Winter has arrived.. FINALLY! Just a week ago it was daffodils were popping up and spring looked like it showed up. Photographed Blogger Mama Blake and her son today in the snow in Nevada City California. Loved these vibrant colors in the gorgeous snow. It was a crisp bright sunny day when we headed out to capture these images for Hex the Store. This session was for their social media monthly package. We went for a all black attire to make these images sharp and stand out. We also chose black attire from the store to bring detail to accessories. Our model wore Purpose Jewelry beautifully. What an incredible hand made jewelry business that stands for quality. Always love walking downtown Grass Valley to to find hidden photography gems! Enjoy!
This head shot session was taken at the St. Josephs Cultural Center in Grass Valley, California. It was a very fun session where I was able to capture her personality. Love the black and white images. I always like to include a few more artistic shots after shooting the more typical head shots. This allows for some fun and personality to shine through. I have found it fun giving my clients the ability to obtain images that are not as basic but images that have more personality. We shoot images against a solid white wall for her Linkdin account and then a few sitting down in various areas with different back grounds that included natural elements like foliage and other organic textures. Love creating images like these! My clients reactions when they achieve their photography images from their photography session are priceless. Nevada County has so many beautiful nooks and crannies that are so fun to shoot!
When Lindsey and Max asked me to capture their engagement session I was thrilled! Lindsey spoke of wanting moody artsy images captured in black and white. Her family had just purchased an old home in Northern California settled in the foothills. Her family had plans to renovate the old home but hadn't began the renovation so we figured it would be a great location. It held sentimental value along with providing a really great mood setting. Nevada City holds a special place in my heart and being able to capture their 1950's home before the transformation happened felt really nice. Enjoy these moody images on this moody rainy day.
Loved this walk through historic Nevada City. We shot while walking past The Miners Foundry then continued on to Broad Street. We passed the historic old theater called The Nevada Theater. Loved how these black and white images turned out that were taken by the Nevada City Court House . This was such a sweet session.
This project shooting for Figs and Feather Farms in Sacramento, California. These are home made products that are plant based, all natural using ingredients gathered from local Northern California. The ingredients used are all organic and very high quality and harvested responsibly. The scents are calming which create a beautiful experience when used or when they are sitting in your bathroom/home. Each product is packaged in a eco friendly biodegradable packaging that are very tasteful.
This session was so much fun! We left early for the San Francisco City Hall to arrive right at opening hours to insure we were able to get there with minimal people. These images were shot on the top floor of the City Hall where the light is soft and natural and neutral. These ballet images were created for the sweetest ballot dancer who needed some headshots taken. We decided to make it into a dance session and it was gorgeous! She sure knows her stuff! Arabesque, Adagio, Battement Fondu all things she created in the most beautiful way!
